Ephraim Udoka
Description
"Ndod Iba” a term originating from the Akwa Ibom and Cross River people of Nigeria's south-south region, means 'something placed on another.' In the context of this painting, it specifically refers to the traditional two-wrapper culture practiced by women in the south-east and south-south regions of Nigeria. This vibrant tradition involves wearing a wrapper around the waist, partially covered by a blouse, and then adding a second wrapper on top, creating a stunning arrangement of colors and textures. Women in this region proudly adorn themselves in these beautiful garments for special occasions and celebrations."
